Acceptable Use Policy
Talon Audit fetches and renders live websites. That power comes with responsibility. The core rule: only analyse websites you own or are explicitly authorised to test.
01 Authorisation is required
You may submit a URL only if at least one of the following is true:
- You own or operate the target website.
- You have explicit, current authorisation from the owner to test it (for example, a written engagement, employment, or a public bug-bounty scope that permits automated analysis).
Scanning systems without authorisation may violate computer-misuse and anti-hacking laws (such as the U.S. CFAA, the UK Computer Misuse Act, and equivalents). You are solely responsible for having the right to test any target you submit.
02 Prohibited uses
You must not use Talon Audit to:
- Test, probe, or map any system you are not authorised to assess.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, denial-of-service, exploit, or gain unauthorised access to any target.
- Circumvent authentication, paywalls, access controls, rate limits, or bot protections.
- Harvest personal data at scale, or process content in violation of privacy or IP rights.
- Submit targets hosting unlawful content, or use findings to facilitate wrongdoing.
- Automate abusive request volumes, resell the Service, or evade usage limits.
- Reverse-engineer, interfere with, or compromise the Service or its infrastructure.
03 Fair use & technical limits
The Service is metered to protect targets and shared infrastructure. Analyses are rate-limited, request only a bounded sample of resources per target, and identify the automated agent by user-agent. Do not attempt to bypass these controls or drive traffic that could harm a target.
04 Respecting targets
- Talon Audit performs read-only analysis; it does not attempt exploitation.
- Even so, automated requests consume target resources — only run analyses you are entitled to run.
- Honour robots directives and site terms where applicable to your authorisation.
05 Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement. We may throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts, and remove content, for any breach of this policy — with or without notice. Serious or unlawful misuse may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
06 Reporting abuse
